A grease gun is a mechanical or manual lubrication device designed to deliver grease under pressure to machinery components such as bearings, joints, and fittings. Its production involves the fabrication of several precision-engineered parts assembled into a durable pressure system.
Manufacturing typically starts with the main body and barrel, which are made from steel, aluminum, or heavy-duty composite materials. These parts are formed through processes such as stamping, die casting, or CNC machining to ensure structural strength and accurate dimensions. The piston assembly, plunger rod, and spring mechanism are produced from hardened steel to withstand repeated pressure cycles and ensure reliable grease delivery.
The barrel is precisely machined to maintain a tight seal for cartridges or bulk grease, while the head assembly is manufactured to integrate valves, air bleeders, and coupling points. Rubber seals, O-rings, and gaskets are produced from oil-resistant elastomers to prevent leakage under high pressure.
After machining and surface preparation, components undergo treatments such as powder coating, painting, or plating to improve corrosion resistance and durability in harsh working environments. The trigger or lever mechanism (in pistol or lever types) is assembled with careful alignment to ensure smooth operation and consistent pressure output.
Final assembly includes fitting all moving parts, installing seals, and attaching the nozzle connection. Each grease gun is then subjected to strict quality control testing, including pressure testing, leakage checks, and functional performance evaluation before packaging and distribution.
